The Qoopa Kids unwind and dish about some of their GaymerX experiences, and take a look at where we stand with LGBT issues and perspectives in gaming. Are we missing representation in not only games, but in games journalism and podcasting as well? How do we fight for inclusion? Will Ian ever get a drink to sate his thirstiness?!

On this show, we talk a little bit about podcasting and how to get into the game yourself! So, here are a few links to programs and such that will hopefully get you some ideas! (Unfortunately, we here at QK Enterprises use a MAC to edit and record our show, but we’ve had some experience with some Windows-y things )
Recording a podcast with Skype and GarageBand
If you use a Mac and plan to record using Skype, this link will break it down step by step. This is essentially the QK Bible. It’s low tech, not insanely complicated, and works rather well. There are several *free* Skype Call Recorder-type programs for Windows, though be warned, these don’t always work as well as they should. We used them for roughly the first 7 episodes, and once we were able to switch to using a Mac, our sound quality improved by a whole bunch.
Podcast Hosting Services – LibSyn
QK has used LibSyn from the very beginning. If you want your podcast on iTunes, or if you just want some server space so people can download your links directly, LibSyn has a number of pricing options. We currently pay only $20.00 a month for the server space. They have plans as low as $5.00 a month, though depending on what your schedule for shows will be, you might want to look into the $10-$20 range.
If using Skype isn’t your thing, Google Hangouts is an excellent place to get content onto YouTube, free of charge, no editing required (or possible really, LOL).
If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot an email to qoopaklub@gmail.com, or reach out to us on Facebook and we’ll do our best to answer them.
